Every 100 years, starting from 1620, the solemn gesture of the Coronation of the Madonna of Oropa is repeated.
Not all generations live and participate in this event that will be celebrated in 2020 for the fifth time.
But what does it mean today to crown the Madonna of Oropa?
Inheriting this tradition does not mean repeating a gesture or a pharaonic event as in past history: the real challenge is to bring this tradition into the present, in this cultural and historical juncture.
So this is not to prepare something that will happen on the last Sunday of August of 2020, but a journey that the Biella church can do in the next years and which will culminate in a celebratory event on that date.
